भयाद्रणादुपरतं मंस्यन्ते त्वां महारथाः। येषां च त्वं बहुमतो भूत्वा यास्यसि लाघवम्।।2.35।।
bhayād raṇād uparataṁ mansyante tvāṁ mahā-rathāḥ yeṣhāṁ cha tvaṁ bahu-mato bhūtvā yāsyasi lāghavam
Meaning
Your reputation depends on consistent action. Avoiding difficult challenges out of fear destroys credibility faster than any failure would. Lead through courage, not avoidance.
Translation
The great chariot-riders will think of you as having desisted from the fight out of fear, and you will fall into disgrace before them whom you had been estimable to.
